On January 3, 2020, the Canara Bank, Versova branch froze all accounts of the institution’s trust, citing a dispute between the institution’s trustees. The trust appealed to the office of the Charity Commissioner for directions to declare the salaries of the employees and make statutory payments, but unfortunately the hearing was adjourned if any order was locked. Although all the trustees told the bank officials that they have no dispute over the payment of salaries to the employees. But even in the midst of the Corona epidemic, he sought an order from the competent authority. Sakti Arun Deo explained the non-cooperation of the bank officials here to MP Gopal Shetty. MP -Shetty took an aggressive stance saying that Corona should be paid at this stage of the lockdown, understanding the difficulties faced by all the employees, including the appeal of the employees at this important stage in their lives.
In this regard, he wrote a letter directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to issue early orders to the concerned bank officials for early payment of salaries of 100 employees here. Arun Deo informed that he cooperated. All the trustees and employees at the end of the day expressed their verbal reaction that MP Shetty had freed the employees from the financial crunch to make them fight against Corona with dignity.
