Along with the central government, the state governments are also trying their best to provide relief to the people of the state at their level. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that all ration card holders will be given Rs 1000 per family as assistance through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) under the Food Security Act in view of the lockdown. However, base seeding is necessary for this.
The Chief Minister directed that the speed of DBT transfer should be speeded up and the money transfer action should be ensured to the beneficiaries in the shortest possible time. He said that for those ration card holders who have not been able to get their Aadhaar seeding done, pay a thousand rupees by getting their seeding done soon.

What is Aadhaar seeding?
Linking an Aadhaar card to a bank account is called Aadhaar seeding. This will make it easier for the government to implement its schemes and the subsidy from the schemes can be easily routed to the customer’s account.
How to do Aadhaar Seeding?
1. Online: Linking of bank account with Aadhaar can be done online from home. Please login internet banking first. After this, click on update Aadhaar card details or Aadhaar card seeding option. After clicking, a new page will open, updating and submit your Aadhaar card number. The bank will ask you to confirm your mobile number and then the information about Aadhaar update will be sent to your registered mobile number.
2. SMS: You can also link Aadhaar number to your account through SMS. For this, your number should be registered with the bank. State Bank’s customers can message Aadhaar number and account number on 567676. If your mobile number is not registered with the bank or your Aadhaar is already linked, you will get a message in response from the bank. If your mobile number with bank If registered, a confirmation message will be sent regarding the update. Many banks have not yet started the facility of updating Aadhaar through SMS, so take the information from the customer care helpline.
3. ATM: Some banks including SBI are also offering the facility of linking Aadhaar card through ATMs. For this, swipe the card in the ATM and enter your PIN and then select the option of ‘Service Registration’. In this menu, select the option of Aadhaar card registration or choose the related option. After that, select your account type (savings / current) and update your Aadhaar card number.
4. Apart from this, you can get Aadhaar seeding done by visiting the branch of your bank account. For this, you will need Aadhaar card, registered mobile number, bank passbook.
5. If your ration card is not linked to Aadhaar, then this work can also be done online. First go to the official website of Aadhaar. After login, select the benefit option in the menu. Here the option of ration card will be found on which to click. Process is to be done after filling the required information. After verification a notification will come on the registered mobile number. Apart from this, this work can also be done offline at Aadhaar center or Jansuvidha Kendra.
