New Delhi : In view of the cases of Coronavirus infection growing rapidly in the country, the Ministry of Health has released a new guideline regarding the discharge of patients. The ministry has now reduced the time for keeping corona patients in the hospital from 14 days to 10 days. According to the new guide line released by the Ministry of Health, now in severe cases only Corona infected patients will have to undergo RT / PCR before discharge, the remaining patients can be discharged within 10 days. RT / PCR test will not be conducted for these patients.
Leave without doing any RT / PCR test : According to the new guide line released by the Ministry of Health, if the patient does not have fever for 3 days after 10 days of showing symptoms of corona, then he will be discharged without any RT / PCR test. If corona has mild symptoms then it is divided into two categories. First, if the fever is cured within 3 days of onset and if there is no need for oxygen support for the next 4 days, then in such a case, the patient can be discharged 10 days after the symptoms without any RT PCR test. Provided there is no fever, no trouble in breathing and no oxygen is needed.
Discharged if oxygen is not required for 3 days after the symptoms are over : If the fever does not go away within three days and oxygen therapy is required, such a patient can be discharged even after the symptoms are over and the oxygen support is not required continuously for 3 days. In such a case, RT PCR test will not be required before discharge.
Homebound patients must remain in quarantine for 7 days : Patients will be told at the time of discharge that they will have to stay in quarantine for seven days even after reaching home. The revised guideline states that if patients do not show symptoms of corona for three days after being admitted to health centers, then for the next four days they will be classified in mild cases.
