Do not exit more than 2 km from home: Police urges Mumbai residents.
The official said that social security rules are compulsorily followed at all times and strict action will be taken against all those who violate them.

Mumbai : Mumbai Police on Sunday urged the residents of the city not to move beyond the radius of two km from their homes to exercise or to visit shops and salons to prevent the spread of corona virus.
A senior police official said that only more than two km of movement is allowed to attend office or medical emergencies, movement outside this radius for shopping is prohibited.
The Mumbai Police appealed to the residents to follow the norms of personal safety and social removal, otherwise they will take strict action against the culprits.
Officials said residents should ensure that all outdoor activities are limited to only essential activities.
“While walking outside, wearing a face mask is mandatory and if people are going to visit markets, salons, barber shops, it will be restricted within a radius of two km from the residence,” the official said.
Similarly, open spaces within two km radius are strictly prohibited for outdoor movement for the purpose of exercise.
“It is permissible to move beyond two km only to attend office or medical emergencies,” the official said.
Although several activities have been allowed under the Maharashtra Government’s ‘Mission Start Again’, the threat of corona virus still persists, he reported.

“It is absolutely essential that we all follow the norms of personal safety and social distance.
“Many people in the city have been found to be in violation of these norms, threatening their own health as well as others in their vicinity.”
Therefore, the police has appealed to all citizens to strictly follow the lockdown guidelines issued by the state government.

Shops and markets that do not follow social distancing guidelines will be closed.
Movement of people is not allowed except for necessary activities during the curfew between 9 am and 5 am.
He said that any violation of the night curfew would be strictly punished.
He said that all vehicles moving away from their local area without valid reason would be mandated.
“It is our sincere appeal to all citizens to behave responsibly and avoid unnecessary agitation. The credit for defeating COVID-19 is on all of us and we can achieve it only if we are guided by the guidelines of personal safety and social security at all times do follow.”
