COVID-19: Number of patients in India increased to 84, 4000 people under surveillance :
The corona virus spread from China is now spreading rapidly in the whole world as well as in India. The number of corona virus patients is steadily increasing in the country and the number of corona virus cases has increased to 84 on Saturday (March 14). The Union Health Ministry has confirmed this. These include cases of death of one person each in Delhi and Karnataka.
The Health Ministry said that more than 4,000 people who came in contact with 84 people found positive in the corona virus investigation have been kept under surveillance. Also, seven people found positive in the corona virus examination have been discharged from the hospital after treatment.
A 76-year-old man from Kalaburgi, who recently returned from Saudi Arabia, was killed on Thursday, while a 68-year-old Delhi-based woman infected with the corona virus died at the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) hospital on Friday night. The Ministry of Health reported that the woman’s son came from abroad and was found infected with the corona virus. The woman died of diabetes and high blood pressure.
So far seven cases of corona virus infection have been reported in Delhi and 11 cases in Uttar Pradesh. There are six patients of corona virus in Karnataka, 14 in Maharashtra and three in Ladakh. Apart from this, one case each has been reported from Rajasthan, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Jammu Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh and Punjab.
There have been 19 reported cases of corona virus in Kerala, out of which three patients were discharged after treatment last month. Ministry officials said 17 foreign nationals were involved in 84 confirmed cases. These include 16 tourists from Italy and one citizen of Canada.
Significantly, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared Kovid-19 an epidemic. Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Anil Malik had said that only four Indo-Nepal border posts would be operational and visa free entry into the country would continue for the citizens of Bhutan and Nepal. He said that the decision to close the Kartarpur corridor is under consideration.
