Retail price of tomato in Mumbai increased by 40 percent.
Market reports from Bhandup, Ghatkopar, Bandra, Khar, Andheri, Breach Candy and Navi Mumbai indicate that the retail price (per kg) of tomatoes has risen to 40-60 per kg.

Market reports from Bhandup, Ghatkopar, Bandra, Khar, Andheri, Breach Candy and Navi Mumbai suggest that the retail price (per kg) of tomatoes has increased by almost 40 per cent.
Two days ago, sellers were able to sell tomatoes at 50, however, in the July 2 advertisement, their price has gone up to 40-80. Wholesalers and sellers are blaming the lockdown for this increase, stating that it has caused many concerns among farmers and locals. Now over several months, farmers have suffered extensive losses and this has ultimately affected trade.
The wholesale price of tomatoes has gone up to 75–8, which was MC 24–30 in the APMC market of Vashi (Navi Mumbai) during the previous week. Apart from this, the retail price of bitter gourd, capsicum, ginger and green peas has also gone up to 100.
Talking about this, Girijesh Tripathi, a resident of Andheri said that people are upset due to the lockdown, as many companies are losing their jobs due to the closure, in such situations, the increase in the price of vegetables will definitely add up Is about to worry.
