In 72 hours of freezing temperatures, Army engineers built a bridge over the Galvan River.
This is the answer to China’s bigotry.
Tensions were high in the Galvan Valley on Tuesday morning, the day after a bloody clash between Indian and Chinese troops on the night of June 15. But even in that situation, the Indian Army completed the construction of the bridge, which is very important in terms of strategic security. Indian Army engineers were ordered to complete the construction of the bridge over the Galwan River at high speed.
The 60-meter-long bridge will allow Indian Army units to reach the LoC at high speed. The bridge was completed on Thursday afternoon. Army engineers tested the vehicles on the bridge for two hours. China knew that the bridge would allow the Indian Army to move faster near the Line of Control. Therefore, they were strongly opposed to the construction of this bridge. But India completed the bridge very quickly without paying any attention to China’s bigotry. The bridge is in a way north of China’s grandeur. This was reported by India Today.
There was a big bloody clash a short distance from the bridge on Monday night. The Karu-based Mountain Division of the Army had ordered a unit of Army Engineers to complete the construction of the bridge as soon as possible without any delay. As the bridge is strategically important, military units were ordered to provide security to engineers at the construction site. Construction of the bridge begins on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, even in extreme cold.
Indian Army Commander Major General Abhijeet Bapat arrived at Petrol Point 14 on the morning of June 16 to hold talks with Chinese military officials. At that time, they were informed about the progress made in the construction of this bridge. The order was given to the army engineers not to stop the work under any circumstances.
China’s main objection was to the construction of infrastructure in the area by India. He knew that this bridge would increase the capacity of the Indian Army. So he was opposed to building this bridge. But now the bridge has been completed and traffic has started from here. Construction of DSDBO road east of Shyok River is underway. China also objects to that. These bridges and roads will enable India to move easily not only in the Galvan Valley but also in the northern sector.
