That is, different types of media content make multimedia together. Since Multimedia has many types of content, that’s why they also use more memory in the computer. Today, multimedia is used in almost all fields such as education, entertainment, arts, science, medicine, sports. Multimedia is used to present information in Computer Games, Websites, CD / DVD everywhere.

Components of Multimedia : A Multimedia Projects has many components to use. Such as Text, Video, Audio, Image, Animation etc. These different multimedia components together make information easy and effective.

Text : The most common and fundamental content of any Multimedia File is – Text. Text is commonly used in Title, Headlines, Menu etc. MS Word, Wordpad, Notepad etc. are commonly used to create a text file. However, many times users do not feel comfortable reading a large text file, hence the use of text should be done carefully. Hypertext is used to link another page.

Image/ Graphics :

It is a very important part of Multimedia. Image or Graphics is a major contributor to what the document will look like. Presenting information via Image or Graphics becomes very easy and effective. Images can be obtained in many ways. Such as Internet, Digital Camera, Scanner to Scan etc. Windows Photo Viewer, Microsoft Office Picture Manager etc. are mainly used to view the image. Several types of Drawing, Painting and Image Editing Software exist, with the help of which images can be prepared. Picture can be edited with the help of Adobe Photoshop and the picture can be made quite attractive.

Audio :

Audio File does the job of providing voice or background music for any multimedia document. With the help of audio, any information can be made more clear. This makes it easy to understand any information. You can get audio files from Internet or from CD / DVD. You can also use your own voice using a microphone. Audacity is a software through which audio files can be edited. There are many such websites from where free audio clips can be downloaded.

Animation :

When the images are played in a sequential manner at a fixed time interval, a visual effect is created. It seems as if there is movement in the image, it is called Animation. When the images are shown in a sequence, the user appears to be moving these pictures.

You can use Adobe Flash to create animations.

Video :

Video can be made using Image, Animation and Audio. Video is the easiest medium for communication among themselves. Video data is usually the most complex data. Using video in multimedia saves a lot of time. You can either make your own video or can get it through other means also.

Uses of Multimedia :

In today’s era, multimedia is considered very powerful medium in the medium of communication. Multimedia is definitely used in every area where the concept needs to be explained in a more effective way. Today it is being used in every field of education, advertising, art, science, entertainment.

Education :- Nowadays, multimedia is used on a large scale for classroom learning. Today, different audio-visual mediums, smart class are being used by traditional methods.

Edutainment :- This is a new word which is used much today. It is made up of two words. Education and Entertainment. That is, to provide education through entertainment. With the help of ICT Tools both the learner and the learner get help. As a result, classroom learning has become quite interactive.
