Handwara encounter: Family freed from captivity of terrorists but five brave soldiers martyred  

A joint operation was conducted by the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police. Five army soldiers and a team of Jammu and Kashmir Police took part in this campaign.

Five soldiers, including two officers, who were martyred during the Terrorist Encounter on Saturday at Handwara in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, once again proved that the Indian Army was in our defense. In fact, the Indian Army had received intelligence that some terrorists are hiding in the Chanjmulla area in Handwara in Kupwara district and the terrorists have captured a house and imprisoned the entire family living there. Army soldiers, regardless of their lives, took out all the civilians who were imprisoned at home safely, but they lost their lives in this encounter.

According to the information, a joint operation was conducted by the army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police on the basis of the information of the terrorists imprisoning such civilians. Five army personnel and a team of Jammu and Kashmir Police participated in this campaign.

The entire area was first cordoned off to free all the families imprisoned by the family. It is said that the terrorists hiding in the house, seeing themselves surrounded, started firing. During this time, the terrorists also used a large amount of gunpowder. After a long-drawn encounter on both sides, all the citizens trapped in the house were evacuated safely. Both the terrorists hiding in the house died in the encounter. It is said that both the terrorists killed were not from Jammu and Kashmir. Efforts are also being made to gather information about the terrorists.

Five soldiers, including the Colonel and Major, were killed in a terrorist encounter that lasted late Saturday night in the Chanjmulla area, one colonel, one major, two army personnel and police sub-inspector were martyred. Those who were martyred include Colonel Ashutosh, Major Anuj, Police Sub Inspector Shakeel Qazi, a Lance Nayak and a Rifleman. Colonel Ashutosh Sharma has successfully completed many operations against the terrorists, but he lost his life in this encounter.
