Gas Cylinder’s New Price: Oil companies have slashed the price of cylinders.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a lockdown in the country till May 3 to prevent corona infection. All precautionary measures are being taken through social distinguishing, quarantine. People are being urged to stay at home. There is good news for the general public during the lockdown. This is because the price of unsubsidised LPG gas cylinders has been reduced. The cylinder has become cheaper by Rs 162.5. Oil companies have slashed the price of a cylinder.
Prices of unsubsidized LPG gas cylinders have been reduced. 14.2 kg unsubsidised gas cylinders have become cheaper by Rs 162.5. In Delhi, 14.2 kg LPG cylinders and 19 kg cylinders have become cheaper without any subsidy. A 19 kg cylinder became cheaper by Rs 256. The price of a cylinder in Delhi is Rs 581.50. In Mumbai, an LPG cylinder costs Rs 579. According to the IOC, the price of a 14.2-kg cylinder in Delhi has come down from 744 to 581. In Kolkata, the rates have gone up from Rs 774.50 to Rs 584.50, in Mumbai from Rs 714.50 to Rs 579.00 and in Chennai from Rs 761.50 to Rs 569.50.
New Delhi and Mumbai, unsubsidised 14.2 kg LPG cylinders became cheaper by Rs 61 and Rs 62 on April 1. In Kolkata, the price of LPG cylinder was reduced by Rs 65 and in Chennai by Rs 64.50. At present, a 14.2 kg unsubsidised LPG cylinder costs Rs 774 in Delhi. It is Rs 774 in Kolkata, Rs 714.50 in Mumbai and Rs 761.50 in Chennai. The new rates were implemented from 1 April. Earlier, on March 1, gas cylinder prices were reduced. A Hindi website has reported about this.

Prime Minister Ujjwala has announced free LPG domestic gas cylinders for 3 months under the scheme. It will benefit 8 crore women. Under the Ujjwala scheme, 8 crore BPL families will get free cylinders for three months. Free gas connection is provided under Ujjwala scheme. The plan has been modified and customers connected by August 1, 2019 will now be able to take advantage of it. Oil companies have decided to postpone the EMI recovery plan until July 2020.
