Schools will be in touch with students through phone, mail, social media
According to the official, students are also being specially alert about the corona virus. Covid-19 support groups of students have been formed for the students residing in hostels under the leadership of the hostel warden, Senior Faculty. This group created for students will identify students who need immediate help and will be given the necessary help.
The UGC has also taken special initiative in the interest of students and their health. UGC Secretary Rajneesh -Jain has written a letter to the Vice Chancellors, stating that during the national lockdown, it is equally important to look into the mental health and psycho-social concerns of the students during and after Covid-19. The letter further states that universities and colleges should start a mental health helpline to deal with problems such as stress or depression in students in the current situation regarding their education, health and other issues.
The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development has also been regularly interacting with students by universities, colleges and through appeals, letters advising them to remain calm and stress free. Haryana has also started a helpline to prevent school dropouts. The state government says that most of the students studying in the classes of the state’s higher education department are from lower middle class and economically weaker families. They do not find any solutions and guidance to reduce their stress levels. No student will be stressed out due to lockdown, so this helpline will work as a guiding agent.
In order to reduce mental health issues, stress, anxiety, depression, dissatisfaction among the students and motivate them to move forward, a counseling helpline has been started in four government colleges in association with M / s – Yovar Dost Agency.
