Corona crisis: 32 crore poor get 29,352 crore rupees, know who got the benefit
The Finance Ministry said that till April 13, the first installment of PM-Kisan scheme has been sent to 7.47 crore farmers directly in their bank accounts.
New Delhi, Business Desk. The Finance Ministry has said that under the Prime Minister’s Poor Welfare Package, financial assistance of Rs 29,352 crore has been provided to more than 32 crore people till April 13. The scheme was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on 26 March. This financial assistance has been provided to the poorer sections of the country under a Rs 1.70 lakh crore relief package announced by the government for sectors affected by the nationwide lockdown implemented to prevent coronavirus infection.
The Finance Ministry has said that 2.65 lakh metric tonnes of food grains have been distributed to 5.29 crore beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana till April 13, 2020. 3,985 metric tonnes of pulses have also been sent to various states and union territories.
