IFSC issue NCP chief Sharad Pawar writes letter to PM Narendra Modi

Decreasing the importance of Mumbai is a financial blow to the country

The Modi government has decided to shift the International Financial Services Center (IFSC) planned in Mumbai to Gujarat. Against this backdrop, the Mahavikas Aghadi government has criticized the central government. After this, now NCP President Sharad Pawar has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has demanded that the decision be reconsidered, leaving politics aside. Sharad Pawar has given statistics about this by doing 12 tweets in an hour.

26 centers get Rs 26 lakh crore through government securities. Of this, Rs 5 lakh 95 thousand crore comes from Maharashtra. Gujarat’s share is 1 lakh 40 thousand crore rupees (5.4%). Pawar said in a tweet that the decision to shift IFSC to Gujarat was very bad and wrong when so much money was going to the Center from Maharashtra.

Efforts are being made to shift financial institutions and industries from Maharashtra to Gujarat, which will create political chaos when it is not needed. Pawar also tweeted that the decision to downplay Mumbai’s economic importance would hurt the country’s economy. ‘Mumbai is one of the top ten most economically viable cities in the world. Mumbai alone accounts for 6.16 per cent of the country’s GDP. About 70 per cent of capital transactions related to the country’s economy take place in Mumbai, ‘Pawar said.

There are many financial institutions in Mumbai. Many companies have their corporate headquarters in Mumbai. So many multinational companies from all over the world come to India. All financial services will be regulated through the International Financial Services Center. As Mumbai is the financial capital of the country, IFSC should be in Mumbai. Therefore, this center needs to be shifted to Mumbai, Pawar said in a tweet. Therefore, Modi should bring the International Financial Services Center in Gujarat back to Mumbai. Pawar has demanded that he take this decision on merit basis.
